This course is designed to familiarize the undergraduate health professional student with the present and potential impact of health care informatics on nursing and other allied health disciplines. It will also address how informatics tools and systems can assist in providing solutions to health care provider education and practice. An emphasis is placed upon the provider's role as a leader and advocate for change in this rapidly emerging field. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: Minimum of 60 credit hours completed and evidence of computer literacy. Credits: 3 hours
