An approach to the religions of the world which surveys themes in various religious traditions (such as Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and primitive religions). The course studies how these religious traditions conceive of gods and world order, founders and saviors, religious experience and practice, and religious communities. The course will pay attention to the contemporary status and significance of these themes. Credits: 4 hours
