This course treats both the theory and applications of statistics. Topics include: empirical distributions, discrete probability, random variables and probability distributions, special distributions, the central limit theorem, sampling distributions, point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, correlation and regression, the design of experiments. Students can receive credit for only one of STAT 2160, 2600, 3640, or 3660. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: MATH 1230. Credits: 4 hours
