This course evaluates the methods and processes of the judicial, administrative, and legislative branches of government; the role of the legal assistant in the legal field; the present law concerned with the authorized and unauthorized practice of law; the ethical standards applicable to legal assistants and attorneys in legal terminology. In addition, the student will learn the basic system and procedures used in the legal systems and law offices. (Previously: PARA 130 Introduction to the Paralegal Profession) Pre or Corequisite: ENGL 110 or placement at ENGL III level. 3 sem. hrs. 3 crs.
