The foundations of the practice of occupational therapy will be explored via didactic and activity based learning. Areas discussed include the history of the profession, OT philosophy, scope of practice, ethics, standards of practice and uniform terminology as well as cultural diversity and its impact on health care. OTR/COTA/OT aide roles are defined and participants are introduced to the concept of professionalism. 3 sem. hrs. 3 crs.
