An introduction to the principles of communication design problem solving while exploring visual semiotics–the interrelationships between form, function, content, and meaning. The fundamentals of typographic design and hierarchies are explored through practical and experimental print projects. Methods for analysis and production will be introduced, with an emphasis on understanding the relationship between words and images in developing a visual language. Prerequisites: CART 225 and 231. $250.00 Lab Fee. 3 sem. hrs. & 3 hrs. studio/lab. 3 crs.
