Topics vary with each instructor, but always include Puritan and plantation colonies, formation of the United States, slavery and abolition, foreign relations and territorial expansion, the rise of mass politics, and the Civil War and Reconstruction. Not open to juniors and seniors except by permission. Fall, Spring.
