This course will present an overview of the elements which define human services. The history of human services, values, and ethics will be discussed. Basic counseling techniques and an overview of the various agencies of human services will be covered providing a strong overview of generalist human services practice. This course requires a short social service volunteer experience. (Fall semester only) Prerequisite: SOC 100
