Introduces prospective teachers to the health issues children face. This course includes approaches to health appraisal, intervention strategies, and follow-up to health care issues for children. Special emphasis is placed on the physiological and psychological issues for children¿s health presented by AIDS, substance abuse, child abuse, eating disorders, suicide, and violence in the schools.
