In this course, the basic principles of organic and biochemistry are discussed. This will include the basic concepts of nomenclature and reaction equations that are necessary for understanding biochemistry. The ability to name and draw chemical structures and to write reactions for organic equations will be evaluated. Elements of biochemistry will include the basic analysis of biochemical structures and the reactions involved in the metabolic processes.
