(Spring; Yearly; 3.00 Credits; N) Provides experience in the basics of various forms of light and electron microscopy. Tissue preparation, sectioning and staining, instrument operation, image acquisition, processing and data management are included. Confocal fluorescence and contrast enhancement techniques used in light microscopy of living cells are emphasized. The format is tutorial and each student is required to submit an electronic portfolio of images. Note: A special fee is assessed. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
