(Spring; Even Years; 3.00 Credits; N) The Senses will cover basic themes in biology using different sensory modalities as model systems. The course will deal with the traditional five senses as well as ways in which other animals perceive the world. The Senses will outline the vital role sensory processing plays in evolution, alterations in cellular activity and gene expression, memory and behavior. This course is not recommended for students whose programs of emphasis are in the natural sciences. There are no prerequisites for this course.
