Students will learn the skills of preventive lifeguarding, water rescue techniques, and aquatic facility management for pools and waterfronts. American Red Cross certification in CPR for the professional rescuer, lifeguarding, community first aid, automatic external defibrillator, and waterfront module may be used upon successful course completion. Students will learn to give immediate care to an individual who has been injured, has suddenly taken ill, or has a cardiac emergency. Prerequisite: swim skills test. Campus and term: J fall, spring
