Focuses on nursing care of the family system with children (ages one month through adolescence). Emphasis is on understanding the impact of growth and development on health alterations common to this age group. Cultural patterns, family phenomena and lifestyles are examined as they relate to and affect nursing intervention. Students will be expected to exercise leadership skills to generate improvements in the health care of children and their families. Nursing process and Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns are the basis for clinical decision making. 2 hours lecture, 6 hours lab Prerequisites: NUR 3022, NUR 3040, NUR 3051.
