A study of cellular antigens and antibodies, their heredity, identification and role in blood transfusion therapy and tissue transplantation. Donor criteria and selection, blood component, therapy, compatibility testing, investigation of transfusion reactions, paternity testing, disease states, and special techniques will be covered. Hospital-based course - senior clinical academic year. Prerequisite: MET 4010.
