Entrance into English 0120 is determined by placement testing. This course prepares the student in need of improvement in grammar, sentence structure, usage and punctuation. The student will submit writing samples on a regular basis. Drills and exercises are intended to lead first to the writing of short samples and ultimately to the writing of essays characterized by clarity, organization and style. A grade of P is required for successful completion of this course. Students must pass a uniform exit examination. Not open to students who have completed ENG 1010 or its equivalent. Not applicable to Arts and Letters general education or the degree. (3-credit equivalent)
