Students will learn processes of language acquisition; socio-cultural factors that affect development of speaking, listening, reading and writing; and distinctions between language differences and language disorders. Students will also learn methods of facilitating the acquisition of literacy skills for diverse learners, including those who are English language learners and those who have disabilities. Fieldwork is required. Prerequisite: ED 2051 and 85% or better on all three Education Proficiency Examinations.
