Principles and problems of heredity are discussed in terms of classical, molecular, microbiological and human genetics. Genetic control at the cellular and organismal level is discussed. Selected laboratory exercises demonstrate the principles of heredity and require data analysis and interpretation. Laboratory organisms include drosophila and protists. 3 hours lecture; 3 hours lab Prerequisites: BIO 1040 or 1140; CHM 1510 or CHM 1050; and one other biology laboratory course numbered 2000 or above, or permission of division.
