This course, Looking at Herself: Contemporary Women Artists & the Female Body, draws on sources including media imagery, the model, and fairy tales, discover different strategies for visualizing the female body. Work with art-making processes including drawing, collage, transfer methods and mixed media in two and/or three dimensions. This studio course focuses on contemporary figuration by women artists in all media and culminates in an independent project. Pre-requisite: Any ONE of the following courses ART 111, ART 112, ART 119, ART 183, ART 213 OR consent of the instructor.
