Prereq.: CHEM 113 or CHEM 111 with consent of the instructor. Presents theoretical principles and experimental practice of quantitative analysis. Topics include solubility, acid-base and redox equilibria and their application in potentiometric, gravimetric, titrimetric, and coulometric methods; spectrophotometry; ion-exchange and chromatographic separations; and analytical data evaluation and computer data reduction. Three lectures and approximately six hours of laboratory per week.
