Fall-Spring Semesters This course is a comparative and historical approach to the development of Indo-European languages and the cultures associated with them. The course will enable students to gain greater insight into the evolution of English and many of the world’s most important languages such as Latin, Greek, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Hindi and Farsi. Understanding language evolution, key components of language, writing systems, and the development of the world’s largest language family and its influence in the world of yesterday, today and tomorrow are primary course objectives. 3 credit hours.
