Fall-Spring Semesters An introduction to the technical and aesthetic aspects of painting, this course explores the mediums of oil and acrylic and the expressive qualities of paint. Emphasis is placed on the development of fundamental skills including the study of light, value, and composition, methods of paint application and color mixing, and preparation of the painting surface. Museum, gallery, and artist studio visits are scheduled, as well as slide lectures. Prerequisite: Art majors only. 3 credit hours. 5 lecture and studio periods.
