This elective course introduces the student to basic financial literacy. This course will provide the basic tools and concepts needed for students to make informed decision about their own personal finances. Content includes application of the time value of money concepts to understand the basics of investing in stocks and bonds and other savings vehicles. Other topics explore personal loans, purchasing a home, credit management, budgeting, and development of personal financial statements. Simple tax planning and auto and health insurance is also covered. Prerequisite: BE 222A. Four hours per week.
