This course includes an introduction to the laws governing physical and chemical change. Topics include properties of real gases and liquids, the kinetic molecular theory, theory of gases, the laws of thermodynamics, engine cycles, phase equilibria, and chemical kinetics. The laboratory offers experiments to supplement the lecture material. Prerequisites: CH 222A, PY 212A, and MA 219A. Offered every fall semester. Three lectures, one recitation, and laboratory per week.
