An introduction to transportation systems and their components. Various facets of transportation: planning, engineering, design, construction, operations and maintenance. Discussions of highway, air, rail, and water modes of transportation and their interrelationships; and the design and geometric layout of various facilities. Also includes the effects of government policies on transportation systems, and the possible social, economic, and environmental effects of transportation facilities. Four hours a week.
