Topics include crystal field theory, ligand field theory and molecular orbital theory. The chemistry, structure and bonding of transition metal complexes are emphasized. Special emphasis is placed on organometallic and bioinorganic chemistry. Prerequisites: CH 222A and CH 231A. Offered every other year in the spring semester, alternating with CH 332A. Three lectures per week.
