Examination of the difference between “normal”and “problem” adolescent behavior, including theindividual, familial, social, and societal factors that contribute to the development of risk and resilience in a variety of problem domains. Issues covered include adolescent suicide, violence, school dropout rates, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy, sexual aggression, and substance use. Prevention and intervention techniques are also reviewed. Prerequisite: PS 336A, PS 341A or consent of the instructor. Three hours a week.
