Examination of the relationship between the nervous system and behavior, with special emphasis on higher cognitive functions and the central nervous system. In addition to low-level visual and somatosensory perception, topics include the neurophysiology of memory, language, functional lateralization, mental illnesses, sleep, and dreaming. Prerequisite: BI 106A or consent of the instructor. Co-requisite: PS210A. Satisfies the social science distribution requirement. Three lecture hours and one laboratory period a week.
