This course traces the changing role of women in the American political system. It examines historically important social movements, differences between men and women in political attitudes and participation, the roles that women play in the government, and current public policy debates related to issues of gender. Prerequisite: PL 101A or CM 101A or consent of the instructor. Satisfies the social science distribution requirement. Three hours a week.
