Focuses on the design and development of elementary and secondary school programs that address cultural diversity including different racial, ethnic, cultural and linguistic groups as well as educational issues related to gender and exceptionality. This course examines the philosophy, history and recent curriculum trends for multicultural education including the concepts and issues of culture, cultural pluralism, bicultural/ bilingualism, ethnicity and global education. Three hours a week.
