This course explores Sacramental Theology through the examination of anthropological and theological perspectives. The human phenomena of word, symbol, ritual, and myth and the theological perspective of God’s call and humanity’sresponse will form the basis of the investigation. The study of historical origins, which gradually evolved into the contemporary rituals, will enlighten the deeper mysterion and meaning of Catholicism’s seven sacraments. In addition, the course will explore the ecumenical discussion on “sacrament” and recent studies includingProtestant understanding and practice. Prerequisite: RS100A. Satisfies the second institutional requirement in religious and theological studies. Three hours a week.
