Intensive workshop style format devoting to the activity of writing for the stage. Examination of terminology, theory, principles, and methods of playwriting. Explores sources for developing dramatic works as well as strategies for critiquing new work. Emphasis on creating an active, yet supportive work environment. Course culminates in the creation and staged readings of student generated one-act plays. Satisfies the humanities distribution requirement. Three hours a week.
