Description:
The basics of 35mm camera operation, film developing, and printing within the context of the zone system will be examined. Examples of photographic work from the history of photography will provide a basis for the development of the photographic vision. Students will develop and print in darkroom sessions and must produce a portfolio of ten photographs. A 35mm camera capable of manual operation is required. Students must provide film and photographic paper. No prerequisite. Satisfies the humanities distribution requirement. Three hours a week.
