( 3) A course in empirical statistics for non-science majors. Topics include: random sampling, graphing, measures of central tendency and dispersion, normal distribution, standard scores, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, Student t distribution, two-way tables, probability, correlation and regression. Prerequisite: MAT 112 or MAT 113 or MAT 114 (or equivalent) or MAT 121 or BUS 102 or NUR 183 or NUR 230. Not open to Math/Science or Engineering Science majors or to anyone having earned credit in MAT 151 or BUS 219. A calculator with two-variable statistics capabilities is required.
