PTA 150 - Clin Intern I

This course is the first supervised clinical experience for the PTA student. Students spend 160 hours in an assigned physical therapy setting. The affiliation site is arranged by the academic coordinator of clinical education after discussion with the student. The student will practice techniques learned during the academic year and gain exposure to patients in physical therapy. Prerequisites: A grade of C or higher in PTA 110, 111, 112 and 114. Students serving affiliation must be certified in CPR and must have met the PTA program immunization requirements. This is a summer semester course, graded on a pass/fail basis. An average of 73% or higher is required to pass this course. Successful completion of this course is necessary to continue in the course sequence.
