6 credits Generic requirement. Prerequisite: BIO 203. Prerequisites or corequisites: BIO 204, 208 and NUR 255, 275. This required course for baccalaureate nursing students introduces students to holistic clinical practice with emphasis on foundational nursing concepts and basic nursing skills necessary for practicing holistic nursing care. Students will learn concepts and skills designed to prevent complications and to promote optimal well-being in the client and family. Relevant research is incorporated and the legal and ethical components of client care are considered.
