4 credits Generic requirement. Prerequisite: BIO 203. Prerequisites or corequisites: BIO 204, 208, NUR 255, 275 and 295. This course introduces the theoretical and laboratory components of a comprehensive, holistic nursing health assessment. Concepts and techniques necessary for gathering and analyzing data about the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual aspects of a client’s state of wellness are emphasized. Comprehensive holistic nursing assessments will focus on clients from adolescence through late adulthood. The nursing process is introduced and the legal and ethical components of client interaction is introduced.
