3 credits Pre/Corequisites: required freshman and sophomore courses. This course will focus on language disorders in children from birth to age 21. The nature of the disorder, assessment, intervention, and prevention for children with specific language impairment, language-learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, and mental retardation will be addressed. Discussions of cultural/linguistic diversity and literacy will be included.
