3 credits This course is an introduction to the study of motor development. The purpose is to provide the student with the knowledge base to understand motor skill development across the lifespan. The course examines the dynamic interaction between cognitive, social, and perceptual motor development in the overall motor development of children. Emphasis is placed on observing and analyzing the movement behavior and performance of children with application to developmentally appropriate movement experiences.
