3 credits Prerequisite: OPR 271. This course is intended for students who plan on becoming business analysts or information system developers. These skills are in high demand by consultants and companies of all sizes. The focus is on the analysis of business systems for the purpose of developing requirements for business process reengineering and information system development. The course also covers logical and technical design and implementation of business systems. Students use a computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tool and investigate system planning, business process modeling, and requirements specification. Students will develop conceptual, analytical, and practical skills in modeling business processes.
