3 credits A survey designed to introduce students to the scientific discipline of psychology. Students will receive a broad foundation in psychological theory and research and the scientific method. This course develops the skills acquired in Critical Reading and Writing. Students analyze purpose, audience, and strategy, which are essential to effective writing. Students will develop and revise expository papers, as well as a fully documented research paper that will demonstrate understanding and mastery of the appropriate techniques.
