3 credits each Prerequisite for SPA 111: none (not open to students with previous knowledge of the language except with permission of the director). Prerequisite for SPA 112: SPA 111; or equivalent. Students who failed to receive a C- or higher in level I are not able to continue to level II. A communicative approach to the basic elements of the language including listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture. Work in the language laboratory is required.
