An introduction to a range of critical theories and practices related to modern literary criticism. The course aims to introduce students to the contemporary forms of critical theory and their antecedents, and to show their effects upon reading practices. Note: The following advanced creative writing seminars, ENGL 407 - 430, involve criticism and discussion of students’ works. May be repeated once for credit. Enrollment is limited to 30. Consent of instructor is a prerequisite.
