A comparative analysis of the history, literature, philosophy, religion, music, visual and performing arts, and popular culture as they have developed in Chicano and Latino society from their historical origins in Mexico and Latin America. Course focuses on humanistic works and interpretations in Mexico since the Revolution in comparison to the development of contemporary Chicano/Latino humanities since the 1960s. Satisfies upper-division ethnic studies in GE, category C4 (Comparative Perspectives). Prerequisite: Restricted to upper-division students or consent of instructor.
