Topics include amino acids and proteins; nucleic acids and nucleotides; enzyme structure, function and energetics; metabolism including glycolysis; the tricarboxylic acid cycle; electron transport and oxidative phosphorylation; glycogen metabolism; hormone action; and other aspects of modern biological chemistry. Prereq: CHE 232 and a physical chemistry course at or above the 400 level, or consent of instructor.
