A historically organized look at the broad evolution of humans and humanity. Starts with general processes of biological change, turns to comparison with primates and interpretation of the fossil record. As human capacities for culture increase, so does reliance on learned behavior and the diversity of adaptations to environment. General processes of cultural change contribute to understanding how and why current cultural adaptations exist, leading to consideration of the ways humans have organized themselves in societies.
