First semester in a two-semester sequence applying the basic principles and applications of algebra and trigonometry. Semester includes polynomial operations, linear, rational and radical expressions, and complex numbers. (3 cr. hrs.) (Fall, Spring). Prerequisite: MATH 1015, or high school algebra and geometry. Cannot receive credit for this course if previously received credit for MATH 1230-1240. A graphing calculator is required; Texas Instruments TI-83 or TI-84 recommended.
