This course is the second of a two-semester sequence for the prospective Pre-K through Grade 6 teacher. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the mathematical curriculum as recommended by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards. Topics will include: Proportional Reasoning, Data and Chance, Basic two-dimensional and three-dimensional Geometry, Congruence Transformations, Symmetry, Tesselations, Similarity, Fraction Sense, Perimeter and Area, and Surface Area and Volume. (3 cr. hrs.) Prerequisite: MATH 1015.
