Prerequisite: Successful completion of READ 009, ENGL 009 and MATH 009, or recentered SAT Verbal Score of (R)380 or greater, or appropriate placement test scores. An overview of a variety of assistive technology devices, services, and systems will be introduced including those that enhance individual mobility, communication, learning, work, recreation, and daily living skills. Students will learn to understand and appreciate the impact of assistive technology on the lives of people with disabilities at school, work, and home. Related legislation and the assessment process will be explored. 3 class hours.
