Prerequisite: PSYC 142. Presents psychological variables in learning, devoting time to factors that affect the quality and direction of teaching. Students consider four broad areas: the teacher--his/her preparation, goals, uses of psychology, classroom responsibilities; the students--how their growth affects learning and adjustment; the classroom and other learning situations; and procedures for directing classroom activities. An optional lab is offered with this course; see course descriptions for EDUC/EDUL 242. 3 lecture hours.
